COLTS BEAT FALCONS, BUT TEAM ISN’T THE SAME WITHOUT HARRISON

FITSNews – November 23, 2007 – The defending Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts made short work of the Michael Vick-less Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving night, but without star wide receiver Marvin Harrison for the fifth consecutive game, Indy’s offense is still a shadow of its former glory.

In ten NFL seasons, Harrison has caught 1,038 passes for 13,920 yards and 123 touchdowns. An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, the former Syracuse star is a sure-fire Hall-of-Famer and arguably one of the top five wide receivers of all-time. He’s also quarterback Peyton Manning‘s favorite target, and a vital cog in the Indy offense whether he’s catching touchdown passes or freeing up opportunities for other Colt weapons like fellow WR Reggie Wayne and RB Joseph Addai.

How important is “Super Marvelous” to Indy’s success? With Harrison in the lineup the Colts are 6-0 this year – and 11-0 dating back to last Christmas Eve. Without him, they’re 3-2 …
