OLD McSANFORD HAD A FARM … E-I-E-I-O

FITSNews – November 5, 2007 – Would it honestly kill S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford to use a metaphor that didn’t in some way involve a friggin’ farm or farm animal? We know this is South Carolina, but the governor’s addiction to all things barnyard-related is getting ridiculous. For example, this morning, Sanford announced that he is embarking on an eight-day, thirty-city “Harvest Tour,” which may or may not include Neil Young and Crazy Horse singing backup …

Yeah, in case you were wondering, that nonexistent quote above is from the part of the governor’s press release that in any way references anything even remotely related to a “harvest.”

Sure he says a lot of stuff about “change” and what not, but there’s no harvest in here, people. Seriously … nowhere. Not even his trademark “soil conditions” reference, which we figured would be a gimme in any harvest-themed press release.

Needless to say, we’re a little disappointed. This would have been the perfect opportunity for Sanford to talk about how he’s going to make the big spenders in the S.C. General Assembly squeal like the pigs they are, but the governor gave them a hall pass … er, a barn pass.

Sanford will talk and strut and talk and strut…but in the end he is irrelevant.
Those people that are serious about government will be in Columbia in January. It is not their fault that Sanford’s arrogance has left him irrelevant. Whether you like, or dislike what they do, they show up and are engage, and affect real life. Sanford sits in his office, squealing like a child that wants ALL the marbles, and will settle for nothing else.
They win, Sanford loses. Case closed.

Will seems to be the one who keeps coming back to farm animals.

Please folks (pun intended), let’s help sic(k) willie by protecting all farm animals. They have feelings too. No farm animal should have to subject itself to sic(k) willie’s passion. This includes goats and sheep and cows.
