OWEN WILSON HOSPITALIZED AFTER APPARENT SUICIDE ATTEMPT
FITSNews – August 27, 2007 – Wedding Crasher Owen Wilson has been hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt, numerous sources are reporting this morning. The 38-year old actor is said to have slit one of his wrists and overdosed on pills.
Star magazine and the National Enquirer jointly reported last night that Wilson, the star of popular comedies including “Wedding Crashers” and “You, Me and Dupree” had slit his left wrist and taken unidentified pills in an attempt to kill himself. Wilson was transported to Saint John’s Health Center after being discovered by a family member who called 911, the publications reported. Entertainment Tonight reported that the actor was transferred to Cedar-Sinai Hospital to receive detoxification treatment. Wilson’s actor brother Luke was seen leaving the Beverly Hills’ treatment center.
We’re sure at least one of the sacred rules of Wedding Crashing (passed down by Hall-of-Famer Chazz Rienhold) specifically forbids this kind of behavior, but that won’t stop us from wishing Owen and his family the best during this difficult time. Wilson had been dating actress Kate Hudson (formerly married to Black Crowes’ lead singer Chris Robinson), but the two split up in June. Hopefully he’ll bounce back from this, and not just because he’s one of the funniest actors around right now.
