CANDIDATE’S S.C. JUMP SHOT HITS NOTHING BUT THE BOTTOM OF THE NET

FITSNews – August 24, 2007 – Ever since he announced his candidacy, we’ve heard a number of political pundits debate whether or not presidential candidate Barack Obama is “black enough,” which it turns out is a highly-technical, scientific term that researchers in white lab coats have spent years objectively defining. Anyway, it appears one of the criteria for being “black enough” is a subject’s ability to not only make a fifteen-foot jump shot in street clothes (without warming up), but to actually look coordinated while making the shot. In other words, “between the legs” doesn’t count (sorry, Hillary).

During a visit to South Carolina yesterday Obama decided to take the “Black Enough” challenge, using perfect form to nail a fifteen-footer (on his first shot) as national TV cameras rolled and photographers’ flashbulbs popped. CLICK HERE to watch CNN’s footage of Obama’s Bomb … and kids, notice how his shoulders are squared to the basket and his arm is fully-extended at the point of release.

We saw something similar to this several years ago when NBA Hall-of-Famer Alex English rolled into a Columbia gym in street clothes to pick up his son, Alex Jr. Somebody tossed the elder English a basketball and yelled “shoot it,” at which point English proceeded to bury the ball into the bottom of the net from about 24-feet out.

Obama may not have scored 20,000-plus points in the NBA like English, but he did play varsity basketball in high school, where he earned the nickname “Barry O’Bomber” for his long range shooting ability. Now if Obama can just get his presidential rivals to settle things over a game of “H-O-R-S-E” …
