WHY SPARKLE CITY, OF COURSE, CHECKING IN ON THE GUBERNATORIAL ASPIRATIONS OF STATE SENATOR JIM RITCHIE

FITSNews – March 8, 2007 – You know, this is going to be a lot like watching legendary political journalist Lee Bandy conduct his famous “man on the street” interviews. Well, except that Sic Willie‘s legend doesn’t transcend county lines, let alone a city block, let alone the space between his ears.

In fact, comparing Sic Willie to Lee Bandy is a lot like comparing Scrappy Doo to Scooby Doo (with Lee Bandy being Scooby Doo, of course, and Sic Willie being the annoying little yip dog that runs around all day yapping “Lemme at ’em, Uncle Scooby! Lemme at ’em!”).

Anyway, since no Palmetto State politician is more staked out on a 2010 gubernatorial bid than Spartanburg Sen. Jim Ritchie – except perhaps Sen. Joel Lourie (D-Richland) – we’ll be taking a closer look at the gubernatorial aspirations of both these men in the coming days. We’ll also be paying a visit to our nation’s capital next week to examine the 2010 gubernatorial prospects of Rep. Gresham Barrett.

UPDATE – Of course, we’ll be doing “other things” in Washington, too. Like eating. And sightseeing. And kicking it old school with our main man Arturo on the baby grand at the Hotel Washington. You want Tiny Dancer? You got Tiny Dancer, people. “I’m you’re tiny dancer, dancer for money, do what you want me to do …”
